Worship With Us

St. John’s Lutheran Church, Bundaberg, has a variety of Worship Services with different styles.  We strive to worship in a way that is both faithful, relevant and reverent.  Holy Communion is celebrated at most Services.  People of all backgrounds and ages are very welcome to attend.

Our weekly 8:30 am Service is our most traditional, with the organ leading the songs and liturgy.

The weekly 10:00 am Service has a more modern range of songs and is led by our worship band.  There is an activity area for preschool children at the front of the worship space and primary school aged children are invited to attend the  KMotion children’s ministry group during the latter part of the service.
Once a school term we have a special School Service at 10 am (non-Communion), which is more interactive and participatory than our typical 10am Service, and has a special focus on children and youth.
Once a term there is a also a family-friendly “St. John’s Community Sunday Service” at 10 am, involving children and staff of St. John’s Lutheran Primary School, along with members from the 8.30am service.

A number of Prayer and Healing Services are held at St. John’s during the year.  These Services begin at Sunday 5 pm and include an opportunity for attenders to receive Holy Communion, an individual blessing, and anointing with oil.  These special services occur approximately every 3 months, please contact the church office for dates.

Our “Welcome to Sunday Worship brochure gives helpful information for visitors and newcomers to St. John’s.  Please also view the Visitors FAQs page on this website for responses to common questions about our Sunday Worship Services.
